Induction brazing

Brazing electrotechnical components is tricky—copper isn’t just a good electric conductor, it’s also a good thermal conductor. You have to heat fast and accurately so the heat doesn’t spread and overheat other parts. And this is exactly what induction brazing is all about—fast accurate heat—and that’s why it is particularly suitable for electrotechnical brazing.


Most of our electrotechnical brazing solutions are used for:

  • Induction brazing of bars, strands, rings and wires in motors, generators and transformers
  • One-shot or segment brazing of short circuit rings 

Induction preheating in the electrotechnical industry

EFD Induction offers induction equipment, which performs a variety of preheating tasks within the electrotechnical industry. Some examples are induction preheating of axles and frames before welding, and heat softening of bars before bending. 


The purpose of preheating is to reduce the risk of cracking and hardening structures. Induction allows accurate heat control—time and time again. You get exactly the result you require. What’s more, the heat is generated directly in the material, which allows you to speed up the preheating process.

Induction postheating in the electrotechnical industry

Our compact and mobile induction equipment performs a variety of induction postheating tasks within the electrotechnical industry:

  • Softening of copper and aluminum bars after bending to reduce the risk of cracking
  • Post-extrusion heating of cable cores
  • Removing of shrink-fitted parts (out-mobile Minac equipment can perform this task, even in locations such as oil rigs, power stations, wind farms, etc.)
